TOP 5 NYFW TRENDS FOR 2020
NYFW has sadly come to a close, and this year it really blew me away. Starting with iconic M Missoni and ending with a bang at Marc Jacobs, we saw countless favorite designers bring their A-game to the runways. I am beyond excited to wear this year’s new colors, textures, and voluminous silhouettes! So many new styles to play with! This is the best time of year to find the best trends and create your must-haves list for the upcoming seasons. Trends are just options, it doesn’t mean we have to try every single one! I personally go through all those photos from NYFW shows and find the trends that I am most excited to experiment with. Here are my top 5 trends from NYFW!
LEATHER TRENCH COAT

Leather jackets are timeless, but the fashion world is loving the updated style of a leather trench. The trench coat is a classic Parisian look, and the leather style adds the perfect cool-girl touch. The long sleek coats are unexpected and inspired by The Matrix, making the look even more badass. I also love dressing up my casual pieces (like jeans and a graphic tee) with a leather trench coat for an extra cool look. My personal favorite is this red leather trench with ruching detail from Coach, that JLo herself was rocking during NYFW!

The last few seasons have introduced the statement sleeve trend, and now it is having its full moment. Huge puff sleeves and wide arm silhouettes took over nearly every runway show in NYC last week. This trend creates a powerful look for strong women every time! This look works best with cinched waist and tapered bottoms to give a flattering shape.

Designers brought all the drama this season with exaggerated waist lines. The voluminous dresses and skirts are bigger than ever! This trend takes inspiration from huge vintage circle skirts, turning them into modern, edgy, shapely silhouettes that you’re guaranteed to see at every party next season. Try an exaggerated skirt or dress this season with a chic belt to highlight your waistline and create that stunning hourglass shape.

Trade in your trousers for a skirt this season for an instant style upgrade. This iconic femme-fatale style of suit is all over the runways, every designer putting their own unique spin on it. You know I am obsessed with suits and the new way to wear it is experimenting with the skirt silhouette. There is endless ways to wear the trend to fit any style; from micro-minis for the edgy girl, to classy pencil skirts for the boss lady, to midi length ruffle skirts for the style maven. You will definitely see me rocking this trend with a graphic tee and sneakers for a business casual outfit!

F/W2020 has a lot in store when it comes to handbag trends, but the round bags take the cake this season. These bags are wearable enough for day-to-day looks, and playful enough to be fashion-forward. They can liven up everyday basics, or soften up an edgy look. Coach just released a preview of their FW20 bag collection with a variety of circle bags in different colors and prints, you can shop here. I cannot wait to get my hands on one!
